Family Vacation Boyne Falls, MI
We spent a week up in Boyne Falls at a ski resort with Stephan's family. We had great weather and got to do a lot of cool things. The highlight of our time was a day on Mackinac Island (we hadn't been there before).
Grandma keeping Gideon warm on the ferry ride.
Our family at the Arch Rock overlook.
We rode the 8 mile path around the island, here we're checking out some caves along the path.
Gideon and Caleb had lots of fun together, both seemed to get better at walking each day and it was fun to watch.
Acacia and Briella being goofy with goggles :)
I'll try to get more pics up later . . .

A boy thing?!!?
Our dear Gideon is 14.5 months old and not really walking. He'll take several steps when he feels like it, but really he's not walking. I've been told it's a boy thing.
When I picked him up from nursery about a month ago, they told me he was kind of bullying other kids . . . a boy thing? or too much wrestling blood?
A few weeks ago they told me he was standing on top of the slide!
Last week while we were playing outside, he climbed the ladder on the playground and went down the slide on his tummy, laughed, and tried it again. (Brie won't hardly go down without help.) It must be a boy thing.
Stephan was reading a book to him and told him lions "roar" and made a grunting roar sound, Gideon repeated and proceeded to point at animals and grunt/roar at each of them . . . including various birds and a turtle. a boy thing?!?
After changing his diaper last night in the stroller, I set him in his seat and was wrapping up the diaper when he stood up, turned around, and dove into the back seat of the stroller all in about 2 seconds. It must be a boy thing . . .
We love that little boy, but he is WAY different than her!!

The Zoo
Last week, I went to the zoo with my sister and cousin and kids (3 adults and 10 kids). As we were getting ready Briella and I were talking about what animals we might see at the zoo. She was hoping for lions and then began wishing for birds and squirrels . . . she got all three! She could usually find the animals as opposed to last year when she missed several. She also enjoyed the "moooookeys."

This was the day that Gideon realized that the great outdoors are preferred over anything indoors . . . he now spends several minutes each morning banging on the back slider, grunting and whining (beware: kids pick up some bad habits at the zoo).
Before we left I took a few pictures of Briella, here is one of my favorites.

You might be a mom
You might be a mom to little ones IF. . .
. . . hearing a little splashing makes you run for the bathroom.
. . . you know that adjustable waist pants/shorts are not just convenient, but necessary to avoid seeing crack all day!
. . . you pat yourself on the back after getting groceries with the kids
. . . during meals you say things like "take a bite" "don't throw that" "no spitting" "all gone?" "say please"
. . . after you finish eating, you still sit at the table waiting for others(see below) to finish, for a very.long.time.
