Happy Father's Day

So we usually try to take a picture of us with the kids on "our" day of the year . . . we totally missed Father's Day . . . well we celebrated with cinnamon rolls for breakfast, new socks, etc. but did not get the picture taken as planned.  So, the next Sunday we remembered!!  After a few turned heads, I got them all looking at me at the same time--while smiling!!

Below are the pictures I took for a gift for Stephan.  Asher wasn't very cooperative but he has "ad" on his feet; together they say "We <3 Dad"  It was not easy to get them to sit still and face me with their feet upright, so the best two are not completely clear.  The bottom two are just reminders that some times we don't see the effort behind the results.

They do love their dad :) He is celebrated each day when he comes home from work with cheers and hugs.  They love to have him read to them, play with them outside, show them videos on his ipod, and wrestle with him (among other things).  We are blessed with a godly husband/DAD!

Briella-isms

Briella is learning a lot of new things and it is so fun to watch her catch on to things and stumble in her understanding.  Here are a few of my recent favorite quotes.

**She was sitting (on the toilet) and smashing her thighs together--it takes a bit of effort to get them to touch. She said, "My legs are getting chubby just like yours Mom! Isn't that cool?!?" My response: "Very cool Briella" WHATEVER???

**Today in the van, "Do you know how high I can count?" "How high Briella?"  "To eleventy"  Hope you are impressed because I do not know anyone else who can count to eleventy!!

**At Dinner: "Dad, you are getting gray hairs here."  (pointing to the temple area where there are in fact several gray hairs)  "You look like you are going to be a grandpa."  (Lots of giggling)

**During lunch, telling stories to Gideon . . . "I was sleeping with my kids' daddy . . ."  (UM, not sure we are ready for any boy talk and she is talking about marriage!?!?)

**During dinner awhile back:  Briella says, "We need to wash the windows again, Mom." I looked at her?!? "They're dirty." I made her help me wash them the other day :)

**In the Aldi parking lot: "Mom, an eagle!" as she points to a seagull.  Just not the same, dear.

**Playing at the park: "Mom, Gideon is crying" (Standing right there it is clear he is not crying) "Right here" (pointing at sweat running down the side of his face).  lovely :)

Postma Boys

One of Gideon's favorite activities is lining up his cars in random places around the house.  The other night he made a line along the back of the entire couch.  I am afraid this is feeding any anal tendencies he may have inherited . . . if one car gets bumped out of line he feels the need to straighten it before coming to eat or to go to the bathroom, etc.

Mr. Mohawk seems to enjoy the punk look he's got going on . . . Stephan is pleased with his new buzzed cut, too.

Grandma and Aunt Kim were here recently, Asher had fun showing off for them :)

Quiet Book 2

Almost two years ago I made a Quiet Book for Briella.  Since then it has been very loved and has a few broken parts to it.  I decided to make another with some new ideas and donate it to our churches auction for Christian Education.  After spending hours on this project I have decided I will be bidding it up to make sure it doesn't sell for $10.  Let me know what you think someone would pay for this little book :)
This is actually the last page, you can build your own ice cream cone and the next page has a little pocket for a notebook and pencil.

This page is a design your own monster page (Mr. Potato head idea).  I cut out a lot of different shapes for hair, hats, ears, eyes, noses, mouths and a couple of bow ties, too.

This little fish can be moved to the different snaps and the dog can go in the house or come out to 'eat' from his bowl.

My most educational page is first--snap on the shapes or count the beads.

I had a few sewing machine issues (mostly operator error) so it has taken me longer than necessary, but it is so fun to see it come together and I hope it is very useful and lots of fun for some little kiddo :)
What is your favorite page??? Hoe much would you bid on this item?!?!
