Guess what we did?!?!?

Wednesday night we decided it was time for haircuts.  Gideon needed a trim and we decided to try a buzz . . . and we've been talking about cutting Brie's short and she was excited to have short hair, so we went with it.  It was a little scary to make drastic changes, but in the end they turned out so cute.  Briella is looking older now and likes to look at her cute hair in the mirror.  When we finished Gideon's hair she said he looks like Sam and when she saw her hair she said, "I look like Tessa."  Evidently I haven't taken pics of those cousins recently to link and compare . . .

Watering the Garden . . .

I had to include this last one in case you were wondering who was in charge :)

28 weeks

I thought it might be time for an updated picture . . . Briella and Gideon were so excited they wanted to be in the picture, too.  I knew you wouldn't mind.  We are enjoying the warmer temperatures and the air conditioning :)

Baseball Games

Recently we have been to a couple of baseball games . . . last month when my parents were here we went to a WhiteCaps game with my sister's family (above).  Zion's (where I used to teach) baseball team played at the same stadium this past weekend.  Our kids were excited to see Uncle Paul (from church, not a real uncle) play.  We came home with two squishy baseballs, a game ball, and a red shirt from some radio station.  Gideon loves the little baseballs and carries them around the house saying "baseball game" and "baseball game again" and "uncle Paul baseball."
(All photos are from Stephan's i phone)
Paul had his 100th strike out of the season during the game!  Gideon threw his ball up the stairs around 100 times, too . . .

Briella found lots of friends to sit by, share snacks with, get autographs with, go to the dugout with, and cuddle with . . . she is way more into people than sports!

Memorial Day Parade

Jenison has a parade every Memorial Day, last year it was rained out . . . this year the kids could really appreciate the excitement of free candy and all the entries.   Rather than walking to the end of our street and settling for the left over candy at the end of the route, we ventured up the street a mile of so where someone had saved seats (at 7 am).  (Thanks J!)
I think Briella's favorite was the float of fake animals that waved, although later she told me the frog had candy in his hand and did not give it to her :(  Her least favorite were the various fire trucks making loud noises.

Gideon loved the trucks, including an INONTIME truck that I didn't take a picture of . . . and this mini Tonka truck.  The low point for Gideon was when some boy scout lobed a candy really high and it nailed Gideon's eyebrow (he had a red mark from it).

New Toys

Grandma Postma was in MI to visit for a week and she got the kids bubble blowing guns.  The kids had lots of fun making bubbles and chasing bubbles.

Grandpa sent a toy for Stephan--a remote control car.  Gideon waited patiently for days while we got a battery charger and was running in circles and jumping up and down when it was finally time to go outside.  Stephan exhibited a little more self-control (no circles or jumping).  The little car zooms up and down the street at a fast past!  Fun times :)

More Craftiness . . .

I have been wanting to make these cute taggie animals for awhile . . .  I finally made this monster for Gideon a month or so ago.  I love it, but it is a little too big for a baby.  But the giraffes turned out great.

I made this elephant for my sister to give as a baby gift, within an hour I had all my stuff taken out and the elephant put together.  Next time I think I will shorten then trunk and maybe add a curve to it.  So I made 3 giraffes and 1 elephant and have given them away, this is my new baby gift idea . . . I think they are cute, personal, and useful, and fun to make :)

Today I made this skirt for Briella.  She is so pumped to wear it to church tomorrow that I let her try it on after her bath.  It is a little big in the waist, but I'm waiting until I wash it before I made any adjustments.

What a cutie :)
